The Froebel gifts are educational play materials for young children, originally designed y Friedrich Froebel, the father of the early Kindergarten movement that began in Germany in the 1840’s. Playing Froebel gifts, singing, dancing, and growing plants were each important aspects of this child centered approach to education.We offer gifts 1-3 for infant to age 3. The soft bright colored ball, the wooden sphere for infant to age 1. Gift 2, introduces the cube and a sphere. This gift was called “The Child’s delight”, as he observed the joy of each child discovering the differences between the sphere and cube.Gift 3 is the familiar-shape of a cube now divided into eight cubes, allowing the child to pull apart the cubes and rearrange them. Each object has been carefully reproduced with attention to the original toy. Wood is sanded smooth (no stain or sealer). For a period color scheme just choose that option.
